  Willie Bingham est le premier condamné à expérimenter un nouveau programme carcéral : des amputations progressives comme peine capitale. Dans ce lointain rejeton de Johnny got his gun, le thème de la guerre est remplacé par celui de la justice, ou plutôt du châtiment. En touchant au corps humain, à l’intégrité physique, le film de Matthew Richards crée un malaise décuplé par la résonance sociétale du sujet. Soyez sages si vous ne voulez pas finir comme lui.

Willie Bingham is the first convict subjected to a new prison program consisting in progressive amputation in lieu of capital punishment. Evoking Johnny Got his Gun, the theme of war is replaced by justice, or rather punishment. Matthew Richards gets close to the body and instills a sense of unease which is amplified by the social relevance of the topic. Be nice if you don’t want to end up like him....
